## Methodology

Every TfL traffic camera currently reporting itself available, from the Unified API. The stills refresh every few minutes and are loaded straight from TfL's public bucket rather than through this site — they are open data on a CDN built to serve them. Around a hundred cameras report as unavailable at any time and are not drawn. The cameras exist to show traffic conditions: they are low resolution by design and do not capture number plates or faces, which is why TfL can publish them openly.
